Turks & Caicos election update

The election results are in (subject to final verification) and it’s been a resounding victory for the PNP - 13 seats in the Legislative Council to 2 for the PDM - giving Dr. Michael Misick an unassailable majority and a very clear mandate.

Since I thought that the result might be close, it just shows how little I know about local politics!

The clear-cut victory for the PNP does at least remove the uncertainty that was in the air and shows that the Turks & Caicos Islanders were happy with the way the islands have been run in the last few years, and the projects and proposals that the PNP have been putting forward.

Ileana on the beach

On Sunday the Tropical Imaging gang went to Sapodilla Bay for a barbecue - rum, beer, sun, sand, and stingrays in the water… The point-and-shoot was playing up and producing weird-coloured images with stripes before dying completely, so I only got a couple of shots and this was the one I liked best - of my friend & colleague Ileana.
